Dr. Anthony V. Filardo has been practicing medical Acupuncture for over 4 years in his practice; Winter Park Chiropractic & Acupuncture Center in the Orlando, FL area. Over that time he has found that many patients have recieved comfort from cancer related pain through acupuncture. Now there is more evidence to this supported by the National Cancer Institute (www.cancer.gov). The National Cancer Institute has found the following correlations between cancer pain and acupuncture treatments: “There is strong evidence from clinical trials that acupuncture relieves nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy”, “Laboratory and animal studies of acupuncture for cancer treatment suggest acupuncture can reduce vomiting caused by chemotherapy and may help a person’s immune system work better ”, “Most acupuncture research with cancer patients studies the use of acupuncture to relieve symptoms caused by cancer treatment”.
